Welcome to Kepén!

Kepén is pronounced keh-pen, meaning "infusion" in Wayuunaiki, a native language of the region in Venezuela we are from. As you may already know, Kepén is an online tea shop, and every single blend is designed by my mom, Omarly Alcina.

My mom has spent the last 15 years of her life learning about tea. I came along – as a translator. I would translate all the information from English to Spanish for her, and we would travel around learning more and more.  

My mom went from owning and managing an Italian restaurant to focusing on tea full time. Today, every single blend in this website has been designed and blended by her. My all time favorite blend is Armonía (which means harmony in Spanish), and I generally drink it, iced or hot, with honey and lime juice. Highly recommended!

Three years ago, my whole family uprooted their lives in Venezuela and settled in Miami, Florida. Thanks to that, this online store exists today, and you are here visiting it.

¡Bienvenido a Kepén!

Kepén se pronuncia keh-pen, que significa "infusión" en Wayuunaiki, un idioma nativo de la región de Venezuela de donde somos. Como ya sabrán, Kepén es una tienda de té en línea, y cada mezcla está diseñada por mi mamá, Omarly Alcina.

Mi mamá ha pasado los últimos 15 años de su vida aprendiendo sobre el té. Y yo la he acompañado, como traductora. Traducía toda la información del Inglés al Español para ella, y viajabamos aprendiendo cada vez más.

Mi mamá pasó de tener y administrar un restaurante italiano a enfocarse en el té a tiempo completo. Hoy, cada combinación en este sitio web ha sido diseñada y mezclada por ella. Mi mezcla favorita de todos los tiempos es Armonía, y generalmente la tomo, fría o caliente, con miel y jugo de limón. ¡Altamente recomendado!

Hace tres años, toda mi familia dejó atrás sus vidas en Venezuela y se estableció en Miami, Florida. Gracias a eso, esta tienda en línea existe hoy, y usted está aquí visitándola.
